Thanksgiving

Some people don't take things giving as serious as others. When it comes to my family, Thanksgiving is a very important time. This all started about 20 yrs. ago when my mom was young. The family would always get together for Thanksgiving and my grandma would do most of the cooking. But, when she was sick in the hospital, my family all thought the tradition would die. While she was laying on her death bed, she made her kids promise to keep her tradition going. From that point on, Thanksgiving has not only been about getting together and eating, but also honoring my grandma. Since I was a kid, we've always gotten together at my aunt's house. About 60+ family members show up! It get's loud! One thing I love about this time is not only the amazing aroma of the turkey, but the connection my family has because some of us only get to see eachother once a year. One thing we always do during Thanksgiving is pray and sing gospel songs before we eat; my family is pretty religious. Ever since I was about 11 yrs. old, I've wondered about how I can dance so good...I didn't take many classes, I didn't plan on being this good, I just am. And this Thanksgiving made me realize where I got my skillz from. One of my uncles is really pro at playing the keyboard. For about two hours we were all singing gospel, then he finally burst out and said, "ENOUGH OF THIS MUSIC!" So, suddenly he started playing 80's pop-lockin' music. Then ALL my uncles got out there and started rippin' it! So, me and Mario got alittle jealous because they were actually good. So, we got out there and had to show them the new generation of dancing. This was the moment of my Thanksgiving that answered my question to myself: I got it from my uncles.
